MOH Recipient's Heroism Inspires 'Twelve O’Clock High' Novel
Army Air Corps 2nd Lt. John C. Morgan spent more than two hours flying a damaged World War II bomber with one hand on the controls and the other on his injured copilot, who was fighting his every move. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions and the story inspired the novel "Twelve O'Clock High."
