General Officer Announcement

Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Joseph L. Osterman for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general, and assignment as commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force.  Osterman is currently serving as the deputy commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Florida.
