Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Vice Adm. Dixon R. Smith for reappointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics, N4, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.  Smith is currently serving as commander, Navy Installations Command, Washington, District of Columbia. 

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Mary M. Jackson for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Navy Installations Command, Washington, District of Columbia.  Jackson is currently serving as commander, Navy Region Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida.
