DOD Releases Budget Figure for FY 2018 Appropriations Requested for the Military Intelligence Program (MIP)

Consistent with Section 601 of the Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, as amended (50 U.S.C. 3306), the Department of Defense is disclosing to the public the aggregate amount of appropriations requested for Fiscal Year 2018.
 
The aggregate amount of appropriations requested for the FY 2018 Military Intelligence Program (MIP) is $20.7 billion, which includes funding requested to support Overseas Contingency Operations.
 
The department determined that releasing this figure does not jeopardize any classified activities within the MIP. No other MIP budget figures or program details will be released, as they remain classified for national security reasons.
