Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis has announced the following Department of Defense Senior Executive Service appointments and assignments:
Dr. Charles J. Ball has been selected for appointment to the Senior Executive Service, and for assignment as the deputy assistant secretary of defense for threat reduction and arms control. Ball most recently served as the deputy program development director for defense at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He currently serves as a member of the Navy Reserve, and is a graduate of Duke University and The London School of Economics.
Col. (ret.) Pamela Powers has been selected for appointment to the Senior Executive Service, and for assignment as the senior advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. Powers most recently served as the mobilization assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. She is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, the University of Phoenix, and the Army War College.
Dr. Alexis Lasselle Ross has been selected for appointment to the Senior Executive Service, and for assignment as the deputy assistant secretary of the Army for strategy and acquisition reform. Ross most recently served as a professional staff member on the House Armed Services Committee. She is a graduate of Bucknell University, the U.S. Naval War College, and George Mason University.
Maj. Gen. (ret.) Burke “Ed” Wilson has been selected for appointment to the Senior Executive Service, and for assignment as the deputy assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy. Wilson most recently served as the deputy principal cyber advisor and senior military advisor for cyber policy. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Northeastern University, the School of Advanced Airpower Studies, the University of Virginia, and the Joint Forces Staff College.
