Readout of Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis' Meeting with Croatia President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović

Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis met with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović today in Zagreb to reaffirm the long-standing defense relationship between the United States and Croatia.
The leaders discussed a broad range of defense issues, and the secretary thanked President Grabar-Kitarović for her country's leadership in Southeast Europe, including Croatia's efforts to maintain regional security. The secretary also recognized Croatia's plan to increase defense spending.
Secretary Mattis thanked Croatia for its significant contributions to NATO security operations around the world, including the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan and enhanced forward presence in Poland and Lithuania.
