General Officer Announcement

Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan announced today that the president made the following nomination:

Air Force Lt. Gen. James C. Slife for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general, and assignment as commander, Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Florida.  Slife is currently serving as vice commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.
