Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby provided the following readout:

Secretary Hagel spoke to Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Abdallah bin Nasir Al Thani to discuss mutual regional and security issues today.

Secretary Hagel thanked the prime minister for his efforts to advance the strategic partnership the United States and Qatar enjoy. Prime Minister Al Thani reaffirmed the strong relationship, noting that the two countries share many common interests.
