Staff Sgt. Kevin Westwood of the South Carolina Army National Guard was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, until the age of 13. His parents divorced when he was 2 years old, leaving his mother to raise him and his sister as a single parent. As a boy in Colombia, Westwood witnessed many acts of violence, prompting his mother to work toward creating a better life for their family.
His mother remarried when he was 11. His stepfather adopted him and his sister, and when Westwood was 13, the family moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Full Profile
