Air refueling during Operation Southern Watch
An ES-3B (Shadow) aircraft from Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron Six (VQ-6) refuels an S-3B (Viking) from Sea Control Squadron Three One (VS-31) in the skies over the Arabian Gulf on April 25, 1996. VQ-6 and VS-31 are two of nine squadrons that make up Carrier Air Wing Seven, currently embarked on board the U.S. Navy nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), currently deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch.
