A U.S. Marine Corps Logistic Vehicle System from the Mobile Combat Service Support Detachment, turns around in the well deck of the USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) at Morehead City, N.C., on May 4, 1996, for Combined Joint Task Exercise 96. More than 53,000 military service members from the United States and the United Kingdom are participating in Combined Joint Task Force Exercise 96 on military installations in the Southeastern United States and in waters along the Eastern seaboard. The Logistic Vehicle System transports supplies, ammunition, heavy equipment and armored vehicles.
