U.S. Marines, acting as opposing forces, lay down fire suppression during an assault by British Gurkhas on the Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain facility at Camp Lejeune, N.C., during Combined Joint Task Force Exercise '96 on May 13, 1996. More than 53,000 military service members from the United States and the United Kingdom are participating in Combined Joint Task Force Exercise '96 on military installations in the Southeastern United States and in waters along the Eastern seaboard. The Marines are attached to Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd Marine Division.
