Pvt. Wood climbs a telephone pole at MacGregor Reservation, N.M.
Pvt. Wood, from the 16th Signal Battalion, climbs a telephone pole at the base camp on MacGregor Reservation, N.M., on June 6, 1996, during exercise Roving Sands '96. Wood is connecting line to a communications dish which will be used to send super high frequency signals to units taking part in Roving Sands '96 which is the world's largest joint, tactical air defense exercise involving service men and women from the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands and Canada. The exercise allows multinational forces to practice tactics, techniques and procedures improving their defense capabilities. The 16th Signal Battalion is deployed for the exercise from Fort Hood, Texas.
