A C-141 Starlifter flies closer to the refueling boom of a KC-10 Extender as the two prepare to link up during the aerial refueling competition on June 25, 1996, as part of Airlift Rodeo '96. Airlift Rodeo '96 is the United States Transportation Command's tanker/airlift competition which tests the flight and ground skills of aircrews as well as the related skills of combat control, security police, aerial port, aeromedical evacuation, and maintenance team members. Crews from the U.S. and nine other countries are participating in the competition held this year at McChord Air Force Base, Wash. The C-141 and KC-10 are from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.
