Airman 1st Class Brad Boudreaux tries to beat the heat of the Saudi Arabian desert.
Airman 1st Class Brad N. Boudreaux tries to beat the heat of the Saudi Arabian desert by pouring water over his face during a break from erecting a tent at Prince Sultan Air Base at Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, on August 9, 1996. The tent is one of 500 that Air Force engineers will put up to house U.S. personnel conducting Operation Southern Watch. Nearly 4,000 personnel, aircraft, and equipment are being moved from bases in Dhahran and Riyadh to the remote desert air base to reduce their vulnerability to terrorist attack. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq. Boudreaux is deployed with the 823rd Red Horse Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Fla.
