U.S., British, and Saudi Arabian personnel discuss the off-load of a Russian aircraft.
U.S., British, and Saudi Arabian personnel discuss the off-load of a Russian AN-124 aircraft on the tarmac at Prince Sultan Air Base, Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, on Aug. 26, 1996. British personnel are using the charter aircraft to move in equipment to support the Royal Air Force Tornadoes fighter/attack aircraft conducting Operation Southern Watch to Al Kharj. Personnel, aircraft, and equipment are being moved from bases in Dhahran and Riyadh to the remote desert air base to reduce their vulnerability to terrorist attack. Southern Watch is the coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
