Explosives Detector Dog searches a vehicle at Prince Sultan Air Base.
Senior Airman Tammy Kirksey, an Explosives Detector Dog Handler, and her dog Jacky search a contracted vehicle at the Echo 6 Entry Control Point Gate, at Prince Sultan Air Base, Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, on Sept. 7, 1996. Personnel, aircraft, and equipment conducting Operation Southern Watch are being moved from bases in Dhahran and Riyadh to Prince Sultan to reduce their vulnerability to terrorist attack. Kirksey and Jacky are deployed from the 2nd Security Police Squadron, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., as part of the Security Police contingent at the base providing Security Support. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
