The last Intruder squadron to fly from the deck of an aircraft carrier.
A U.S. Navy A-6E Intruder receives the signal to launch from catapult three of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65), on Dec. 19, 1996, marking the last Intruder squadron to fly from the deck of an aircraft carrier. The Intruder, from Attack Squadron 75, Naval Air Station Oceana, Va., sports the AG tail code and paint scheme representing Carrier Air Wing 7, the squadron's first air wing over 30 years ago. The squadron, known as the Sunday Punchers, will be decommissioned in early 1997.
