Lance Cpl. Tandem Thrust is a combined military training exercise involving 28,000 personnel, 252 aircraft and 43 ships, and is designed to train U.S. and Australian staffs in crisis action planning and contingency response operations. Exley is attached to the U.S. Marine Corps 9th Engineering Support Battalion. Dawson is attached to the Australian 21st Construction Squadron.
