Marine Cpl. Paul Hardy hauls a fuel hose from a M970 fuel truck to a waiting helicopter at the Forward Area Refueling Point near Yuma, Ariz., on April 17, 1997, during Exercise Desert Punch. Desert Punch is a simulated helicopter assault mission involving over 60 helicopters from nine squadrons of Marine Aircraft Group 16. The helicopters launched from Marine Corps Air Stations El Toro and Tustin, Calif., and rendezvoused at the designated landing zone outside Yuma. Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 371, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, set up and supported the refueling point.
