Staff Sgt. Jeff Pickens directs a k-loader back from a C-17 Globemaster III on the ramp at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., on April 24, 1997. The Globemaster is bringing in a cargo of portable showers. The hangars at the air base are being used as temporary shelter for thousands of Grand Forks residents who were displaced by the flood waters of the Red River. Pickens is attached to the 319th Transportation Squadron at Grand Forks. The Globemaster is from the 8th Airlift Squadron at Mc Chord Air Force Base, Wash.
