USS Constellation steams in the Persian Gulf during Operation Southern Watch.
The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CV 64) steams in the Persian Gulf on May 25, 1997, during Operation Southern Watch. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq. The Constellation Battle Group and its air wing are enforcing the no-fly zones and also are monitoring shipping in the Persian Gulf region.
