The USS Port Royal (CG 73) steams in the Persian Gulf as it conducts surface and air defense operations for the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) battle group on Nov. 7, 1997. The Ticonderoga class cruiser is equipped with AEGIS combat systems, and Tomahawk anti-ship and land attack missiles.
