Soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division march through Copenhagen, N.Y.
There's no stopping these soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division's 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment as they march through village of Copenhagen, N.Y. on Jan. 15, 1998. The infantrymen laid down their weapons and picked up axes and hand saws to assist in the clean-up of Copenhagen. Numerous trees were damaged from heavy ice buildup following a January 8th ice storm which left thousands of upstate New York people without electrical power or heat. Personnel from Fort Drum are working around the clock in support of communities crippled by the recent ice storm. Soldiers are augmenting community clean-up efforts and providing trucks, electrical power, mobile kitchens, heaters, and more than 60,000 sand bags.
