U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class John Wiederhold tests a Vertical Launch System panel aboard the guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) on Feb. 11, 1998. The McCain is operating in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch which is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
