U.S. Air Force personnel set up a satellite antenna at an operating base in Southwest Asia.
U.S. Air Force personnel from the 51st, 52nd and the 54th Combat Communications Squadrons set up a 20 foot Quick Reaction Satellite Antenna at an operating base in Southwest Asia on Feb. 16, 1998. Over 400 U.S. Air Force personnel are deployed to the Gulf region as part of an Air Mobility Command Tanker Task Force operating in the Southwest Asia theater in support of Operation Southern Watch. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq. The antenna will give the deployed Tanker Task Force direct, worldwide communications. The 51st, 52nd and the 54th are deployed from Robins Air Force Base, Ga.
