Members of the U.S. Air Force 305th Air Expeditionary Group use goggles and other protective clothing to help them deal with the 35 knot winds at an operating base in Southwest Asia on March 3, 1998. The month of March marks the beginning of the windy season in the Persian Gulf region which will last well into late August. The 305th Air Expeditionary Group is currently operating as part of an Air Mobility Command Tanker Task Force operating in the Southwest Asia theater in support of Operation Southern Watch. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
