Scott Centobene (center), and Airman 1st Class Vincent Horn (right), load an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile onto an F-16 Fighting Falcon at Aviano Air Base, Italy, on June 15, 1998, in preparation for Exercise Determined Falcon. Forces from the United States European Command participated in and supported the one-day NATO exercise. NATO conducted Determined Falcon over Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia with the agreement of those two governments. The objective of this exercise was to demonstrate NATO's capability to project power rapidly into the region. The F-16 is attached to the 555th Fighter Squadron, 31 Fighter Wing at Aviano.
