A 305th Air Mobility Wing loadmaster marshals a truck into the back of a C-141 Starlifter.
A loadmaster from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., marshals a truck into the back of a C-141 Starlifter during the engine running on load/off load competition of Air Mobility Rodeo 98 at McChord Air Force Base, Wash., June 22, 1998. The engine running on load/off load competition requires the team to load a truck and two trailers and secure them for flight. After loading, the crew has to release and remove the equipment from the aircraft. They are judged on safety and speed. Rodeo 98 tests the flight and ground skills of aircrews as well as the related skills of special tactics, security forces, aerial porters, aeromedical evacuation and maintenance members. The goal of the international airlift-tanker competition is to develop and improve techniques and procedures that enhance air mobility operations.
