U.S. Navy Airman Arruda Keolani directs an AV-8 Harrier as it moves on the flight deck of the USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3) on Oct. 30, 1998, as the ship operates off the coast of the Republic of Korea during Exercise Foal Eagle '98. Foal Eagle '98 is a combined, joint exercise supported by forces from the U.S. and Republic of Korea. In addition to providing hands-on field experience for forces of both nations, Foal Eagle '98 was designed to test rear area protection operations and major command, control and communications systems. The Harrier is deployed onboard the Belleau Wood from Attack Squadron 311, Yuma, Ariz.
