U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Aguilar hands a 55-pound bag of rice to a Honduran airman.
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. George T. Aguilar hands a 55-pound bag of rice to a Honduran airman as they unload a plane full of relief supplies at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, on Nov. 9, 1998. Over 1,000 U.S. service members are helping to rush food, shelter, pure water, medical aid and other relief supplies to the central Americans made homeless by Hurricane Mitch. Soto Cano is an intermediate staging base for the operation. From there the supplies are transported by trucks and smaller aircraft to distribution areas around the country. Aguilar is deployed from Detachment 1, 24th Wing, Howard Air Base, Panama.
