Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, thanks the soldiers gathered at the Eagle Sports Complex in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Dec. 22, 1998, for their dedication and service to the nation. Shelton spoke to the soldiers about their mission, education and the proposed pay raise for military personnel. The soldiers are deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina in support of Operation Joint Forge.
