Troops crowd in as they position themselves for a photo with President Bill Clinton at Skopje, Macedonia, on June 22, 1999. Many of the troops will become part of KFOR which is the NATO-led, international military force deploying into Kosovo on a peacekeeping mission known as Operation Joint Guardian. KFOR will ultimately consist of over 50,000 troops from more than 24 contributing nations, including NATO member-states, Partnership for Peace nations and others. The president is visiting troops and refugees as he stops in Macedonia and Aviano Air Base, Italy.
