Staff Sgt. Rafael Rivera hands a truck driver a flyer about the 8 p.m. curfew imposed by KFOR in Vitina, Kosovo, on July 6, 1999. The curfew was implemented in hopes of decreasing the amount of looting, arson, and exchanges of gunfire that have been occurring in this area. KFOR is the NATO-led, international military force in Kosovo on the peacekeeping mission known as Operation Joint Guardian. Rivera is attached to the 82nd Airborne Division and is deployed as part of KFOR. The green glow of the photograph is the result of using a night vision device mounted on the camera.
