Staff Sgt. Buchmiller is part of an Air Force crew conducting a humanitarian mid-winter air drop mission to Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station operated by the National Science Foundation. The air drop will contain medical supplies needed for a 47-year-old American woman who discovered a lump in her breast. The Tucker System is a series of specialized rollers that enables cargo to be air-dropped out of the troop doors of the Starlifter.
