Carpenter and his customers are deployed to Egypt for Exercise Bright Star '99/00. Bright Star is a joint/combined command post and tactical field exercise in Egypt involving over 50,000 participants from 11 countries. The annual exercise is designed to improve readiness and interoperability between U.S., Egyptian and coalition forces. The green glow of the photograph is caused by the night vision adapter placed on the camera.
