Aerial Port Specialist Staff Sgt. Kraig Taylor, U.S. Air Force, marshals an aircraft carrying American military personnel deployed for Exercise Bright Star '99/00 to a parking spot at Cairo West Air Base, Egypt, on Oct. 2, 1999. Bright Star is a joint/combined command post and tactical field exercise in Egypt involving over 50,000 participants from 11 countries. The annual exercise is designed to improve readiness and interoperability between U.S., Egyptian and coalition forces.
