Sailors attached to the Deep Submergence Unit Unmanned Vehicles Detachment perform routine checks of the remotely piloted vehicle SCORPIO on the deck of the MV Kellie Chouest on Feb. 1, 2000, prior to departing San Diego, Calif., for the crash site of Alaska Airlines Flight 261. The SCORPIO will be used to conduct an underwater search for the airplane's flight data recorders off the coast of Southern California. The MV Kellie Chouest is a Military Sealift Command Submarine Support Ship.
