The U.S. Navy dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 46) lies at anchor on March 5, 2000, in the Eastern Channel of Sitka Sound, Alaska, during Exercise Northern Edge 2000. Northern Edge 2000 is Alaska's largest joint military training exercise involving over 10,000 men and women from all five services. The Comstock is deployed for the exercise from San Diego, Calif.
