This is the first time the range at Cape Wrath has been used to certify U.S. Navy ships in naval gunfire support. Marines of the 2nd Marine Division and sailors of the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic, worked with the United Kingdom's 148th Commando Forward Observation Battery, Royal Artillery, at Cape Wrath to certify the ships. Stafford, from Rockport, Ind., and Villette, from Brooklyn, N.Y., are attached to Headquarters 5th Battalion, 10th Marines.
