Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton, U.S. Army, receive batons from members of the U.S. Army's Golden Knights Parachute Team at the Pentagon on May 18, 2000. The precision parachutists landed on the Pentagon Parade Field at the conclusion of the 50th Anniversary Armed Forces Day ceremony. Cohen and Shelton co-hosted the event which honored approximately 300 "unsung heroes" who are military and civilian employees of the Department of Defense in the National Capital region.
