A U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet launches from the flight deck of the USS George Washington (CVN 73) while the ship operates off the coast of Puerto Rico on June 26, 2000. The Hornet, loaded with inert weapons, will conduct bombing runs on the training range on the island of Vieques. The George Washington Battle Group is deployed on a scheduled six month deployment.
