Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Mays, team captain of the U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team, pauses before a workout at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on Sept. 14, 2000. Mays will wrestle in the 54 kg/119 lb. weight class. Fifteen U.S. military athletes are competing in the 2000 Olympic games as members of the U.S. Olympic team. In addition to the 15 competing athletes there are eight alternates and five coaches representing each of the four services in various venues. Mays is a Navy aviation boatswain's mate (Launch and Recovery Equipment) attached to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67).
