Athletes from the United States of America march into the Olympic Stadium during opening ceremonies for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on Sept. 15, 2000. Fifteen U.S. military athletes are competing in the 2000 Olympic games as members of the U.S. Olympic team. In addition to the 15 competing athletes there are eight alternates and five coaches representing each of the four services in various venues.
