Szarenski scored a 550 but failed to advance into the finals. Fifteen U.S. military athletes are competing in the 2000 Olympic games as members of the U.S. Olympic team. In addition to the 15 competing athletes there are eight alternates and five coaches representing each of the four services in various venues. Szarenski and Arnold are attached to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, Fort Benning, Ga.
