U.S. Army Spc. Chad Senior hits the pool as he trains on Sept. 22, 2000, for the modern pentathlon event at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The modern pentathlon consists of 10 meter air pistol shooting, fencing, 200 meter freestyle swimming, equestrian show jumping and a 3,000 meter run. Senior is one of fifteen U.S. military athletes competing in the 2000 Olympic games as members of the U.S. Olympic team. In addition to the 15 competing athletes there are eight alternates and five coaches representing each of the four services in various venues.
