Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld shares some of his experiences as a naval aviator with Lt. Shane J. Osborn, USN, as Lt. Osborn's mother Diana (left) looks on. Osborn is the pilot of the EP-3 aircraft which was forced to make an emergency landing April 1, 2001, on Hanian Island, Peoples Republic of China. The 24 member crew were presented awards during the the opening ceremony of the Joint Services Open House at Andrews Air Force Base, MD, May 18, 2001, which drew thousands of spectators.
