Ellis (left), USAF, the U.S. co-commander of Combined Task Force Operation Northern Watch headquartered at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, introduces one of his F-16 pilots, 1Lt. Quenten Esser (3rd from left) and two ground crew personnel to visiting Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld stopped at Incirlik on June 4, 2001, to receive detailed briefings from Brig. Gen. Ellis and his staff and to visit with the service personnel of the U.S., Turkey, and the United Kingdom who are working to fulfill the mission of the combined task force. Turkey was Rumsfeld's first stop in a planned seven-day, seven-nation European tour.
