Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld (left) talks with two pilots and a support technician from the British Royal Air Force SEPCAT Jaguar unit assigned to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, as part of the Combined Task Force Operation Northern Watch. As with the Turkish, and U.S. Air Force F-16s flying out of Incirlik, the British Jaguar fighter-bombers regularly participate in patrols over northern Iraq to enforce the no-fly zone. Rumsfeld stopped at Incirlik on June 4, 2001, after having spent the morning in meetings with senior officials of the Turkish Government in Ankara, the nation's capitol. Turkey was Rumsfeld's first stop in a planned seven-day, seven-nation European tour.
