Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld answers a question during a town hall meeting in the Pentagon on Aug. 9, 2001. In addition to taking questions from the audience in the auditorium, military or civilian DoD personnel world-wide could fax or e-mail questions to Rumsfeld from their duty stations. The event was carried live by the American Forces Radio and Television Service and streaming audio was provided on the Defense Department's web site called DefenseLINK. DoD spokesman Rear Adm. Craig Quigley (left) acted as the moderator of the program.
